Campground Rules & Policies
We’re excited to have you stay with us and want to ensure that everyone has a safe, relaxing, and enjoyable experience. Please take a moment to review our guidelines to help keep the campground peaceful and fun for all.
11:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Let’s keep the evenings peaceful! Please no radios or music during quiet hours, be considerate of your neighbors.
Excessively loud music will not be tolerated at any time, even during non-quiet hours.
Generators are not permitted to be run at any time.
ABSOLUTELY NO FIREWORKS AT ANY TIME
No exceptions here, even on July 4th. Too many people in close quarters make fireworks a bad idea.
Wastewater must be discharged at a dump station or sewer equipped campsite. Do not dump grey or black water on the ground at any time. Accidents happen and if it does, we respectfully request that you clean it up. A portable wastewater tank is available for use at the main office at no charge. If you are here for an extended stay, we can arrange for a 3rd party septic company (Tuesdays) to come and pump your tanks at your cost, please inquire at the main office.
NO OUTSIDE FIREWOOD
To protect our park from invasive species, we kindly ask that you do not bring outside firewood into River View. Over the years, invasive pests have caused the loss of hundreds of our beautiful trees in our park.
Read the DNR Policy on moving firewood here.
By using our locally sourced wood, you’re helping prevent the spread of these harmful species. The firewood we provide has been heat-treated to eliminate any risk and is available for purchase at the main office or via our online store. For your convenience, we’re happy to deliver it right to your campsite! Thank you for helping us keep our park healthy and thriving! 🔥

River Trip Rules & Policies
Rules are just good advice wearing a uniform! Follow these simple do’s and don’ts, and we’ll all have a blast on the river—because let’s face it, happy floaters make happy boaters!
The Rifle River is a beautiful, natural waterway—not a theme park ride! It’s important to remember that it doesn’t have built-in safety features, so your safety is entirely in your hands. Make smart decisions while enjoying your float, and stay alert to the natural hazards that can come with any outdoor adventure. We want you to have an unforgettable and safe river trip, so keep safety in mind and make the most of your experience!
Please be mindful of where your river trip ends and make sure to exit the river at the correct spot. Missing your take-out point can make it difficult for us to locate you quickly. Before your trip, we’ll share all the details about your put-in and take-out locations—so be sure to listen carefully to River View staff. If you do happen to miss your take-out point, any rescue fees will be your responsibility. Let’s work together to keep your trip smooth and stress-free!
All river trips must be wrapped up by 6 PM, as the Rifle River transitions into a designated fishing stream at that time. We work closely with the Michigan DNR to ensure our guests are off the river by 6 PM, allowing anglers to enjoy the waters without interruption. Thank you for helping us keep this agreement and supporting everyone’s enjoyment of the river!
You’re more than welcome to bring your own river trip equipment! However, please note that if you’re going the DIY route, you’ll be responsible for all your own logistics. River View is unable to transport private equipment or customers who haven’t rented equipment from us.
You’re welcome to use the River View Main Landing as your exit point, but for launching, please use public DNR landings—we kindly ask that our up-river landings remain reserved for River View rentals.
If you’re tubing down to the Melita Road Bridge (White’s Canoe Livery), be sure to pay their take-out fee and arrange your own transportation. Following these guidelines helps ensure a smooth experience for everyone. Guests who fail to follow these instructions may be asked to leave River View. Thanks for your understanding and cooperation!
After your trip, we kindly ask that you do not bring your car down to the River View Main Landing to load up heavy coolers or gear. The area gets very busy as trips wrap up, and we want to keep it safe and organized for everyone.
To be clear: drunk driving of any kind is absolutely not allowed, especially in a crowded area where others may also be walking around after enjoying their river day. For everyone’s safety, please keep your car away from the coned-off area and avoid blocking access for River View vehicles that need to pull in and out. Your cooperation is essential to maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment for all!
No Trespassing on Private Property: The shores of the Rifle River along your trip are privately owned. While many property owners are okay with visitors stopping briefly, it’s important to respect No Trespassing signs when you see them. If a property owner asks you to leave, please do so politely and promptly. Let’s all work together to keep good relationships with the wonderful landowners along the river!
No Smoking or Open Alcohol Shuttles: We’re all in the bus together, and there is no partition wall between you and the driver, so we can’t have you with open containers of alcohol. Also keep your cigarettes in your pocket until you get off the bus please.
Life Jackets are mandatory: You can pickup a life jacket at the bus stop prior to boarding a bus, or if floating down-stream, at the Main Landing prior to departing.
Use in moderation on the river. Excessive use of alcohol will not be tolerated. Violators will be reported and required to leave the premises. Refunds will not be issued.
Let’s all treat each other with kindness and respect while enjoying the river. Many issues we address come from squirt guns or splashing people who aren’t looking to get soaked. Everyone has their own idea of what makes a great day on the river, so please be mindful of others’ preferences and requests. Don’t be the person who spoils someone else’s fun—let’s keep the river a positive and enjoyable space for everyone! 🌊😊
