About Us

Welcome!

We’re always happy to help in any way we can for our guests to have great experiences up north enjoying the Rifle River. From organizing your river trip logistics, to keeping the park running smooth and efficiently, current owner Todd Golebiewski (pictured left) strives to provide the best customer experiences possible.

Our large crew comes together each summer to provide our guests great experiences.

The “View Crew” is ready to make your stay…great!

Founder Joanne Schmid (pictured left) sitting outside of the main office as it was back in 1991 after a few changes before the grand opening to make it presentable and transformed into our first office space. The original building (house) was clad with a half-rotted dark brown particle-board and not accessible to the public. You can still see some aspects of the original house in our camp-store, where the ceilings are lower than the rest.

Today’s “Beer Cabin” was the kitchen, the “Candy Area” was the living room, the “Grocery Area” was the bedroom and the “Concession Counter” was the entire office ran thru a window on the side of the house.
Originally constructed and known as Lou Nagy’s Rifle River Campground in the 1970’s, River View Campground & Canoe Livery was established in 1991 after purchase by founders Alfred & Joanne Schmid. River View quickly grew and modernized into the park that is recognized today.

Progress through the seasons.

We’ve been putting a lot of work into the park over the last 35 years. There is always a project on the list to complete during each off-season.

From new campsites to new infrastructure and equipment, River View continues to change with the times.

What’s Next?

We’re always working on something new to improve things for your next visit. While the campground slows down for the late fall and winter months, our efforts begin to ramp up to complete improvement projects at the park. We try to do as much work “in-house” as possible, we’re always working hard to improve things at the park.

One current project started in the Fall of 2024 is trenching underground fiberoptic cabling to different sections of the park to improve the performace of our WiFi internet in the park.
